Who needs vowels?
Apparently not Xyzyx, a visionary company (whose employees must get sick of having to constantly spell its name). More insightful is Xyzyx’s decision to make its custom three-dimensional photo disks, called Image3D, available as promotional items. In a nice blend of high-tech and retro, the photo disks are eyeballed with a classic View-Master viewer.
Xyzyx (pronounced zye-zix), the vowel-challenged brainchild of Rich Dubnow (View-Master’s photographer for 20 years), can transfer 3-D photography, animation, and other graphics onto disks and get them into customers’ hands within 10 working days and in quantities as low as 10. Such figures would seem to be of interest to Hasbro’s Parker Brothers division, the makers of Scrabble, considering that each letter in Xyzyx is worth 10 points. Located near Portland, OR, Xyzyx can be reached at 503-684-8582 or at xyzyx.com.
