While You Were Out Offers up a Dream Room

TLC is helping lucky homeowners upgrade their spaces with the Win While You’re Out sweepstakes beginning Sept. 13.

TLC and partnering affiliates will give consumers nationwide the opportunity to win a $10,000 grand prize to turn an ordinary room in their home into the extraordinary space of their dreams.

On-air spots will drive consumers to visit local sponsors where they can obtain scratch-off game cards for the chance to instantly win the grand-prize or one of 500 secondary prizes including a $25 gift certificate to The Discovery Channel Store or online at Discovery.com. For the chance to win a weekend getaway, consumers can enter online or via mail through the instant win game pieces and on printed materials at participating local retailers.

While You Were Out takes viewers through a secret, two-day design project. A homeowner sneakily sends his or her partner, parent or roommate out of town for a couple of days while the While You Were Out team works to create a new space.
