Warner Music Group Names Scherr, VP Interactive Marketing

Warner Music Group has named Peter Scherr vice president, interactive marketing, a new position.

In his new role, Scherr oversees a team that works with Warner Music Group’s labels to expand the scope of its worldwide interactive marketing efforts, including mobile marketing, e-commerce and search engine marketing.

Prior to joining the company, Scherr worked as director, interactive marketing for JetBlue Airways Corp. During his three years there, he developed and managed the airline’s Web site. He also managed the company’s e-mail and search engine marketing programs.

Scherr’s appointment will help Warner Music Group optimize Web site traffic for his artists and labels, allowing the company to “create more touch points to offer a more constant and interactive dialogue between fans and their favorite artists,” Dan Pelson, senior vice president, global consumer marketing, said in a statement.

Warner Music Group manages a network of 850 Web sites that reach over 10 million unique users each month.
