USPS Plans Overhaul of Marketing Operations

The U.S. Postal Service is planning a major overhaul of its marketing operations, according to a brief announcement in Postallink, its internal electronic newsletter.

According to that newsletter, which was forwarded to postal employees, the new position of associate vice president and four new sales units, each responsible for six Sales Centers which would manage the sales and account activities for multiple Performance Clusters.

The new organization plan will combine customer relations, account management, national account, business service network and tactical marketing and sales.

So far five new associate vice presidents have been named. They are: James Cochrane Capitol District manager, customer sales and service; Robert Sheehan, Atlanta district manager, customer service and sales; Ron Eley, Houston district manager, customer service and sales; Diane Regan, Sacramento district manager, customer service and sales, and Hank Cleffi, manager, programs and planning, tactical marketing and sales.
