Strong Online Holiday Shopping Seen in 2007

Online holiday shopping this year is expected to be strong with 84% of survey respondents planning to spend as much as or more online than they did during the 2006 season, according to Advertising.com.

In addition, this year’s buying cycle is expected to be longer than previous ones, with 50% of respondents indicating they will start shopping for holiday gifts in October or earlier, the survey found. . Last year, 44% of survey respondents said they would begin holiday shopping after Thanksgiving, while 15 % said they wouldn’t begin shopping until the last two weeks of December.

The survey polled 502 adults age 18 and older.
