Sponsorship specialist launches firm

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Sponsorship marketing veteran David Paro announced in February the formation of Deep Alliance Marketing, a marketing services firm providing marketers with sponsorship expertise. McDonald’s Corp. is the agency’s first major client; the agency will manage the McDonald’s All-American High School Soccer Games, a second-year event patterned after the McDonald’s All-American High School Basketball event.

Prior to forming Deep, Paro served as a senior VP at Clear Channel Entertainment, heading CMI, the company’s marketing services unit. Clear Channel Entertainment is a division of San Antonio-based Clear Channel Communications.

During his 19-year career, Paro has held both client- and agency-side posts, covering multiple marketing disciplines. Paro has served as McDonald’s director of U.S. sports alliances, overseeing the restaurant chain’s domestic sponsorship portfolio and he has also been the director of sports marketing for Chicago-based promotion firm Frankel.

“Marketers are under increased pressure to deliver results while experiencing ever-tightening budget constraints,” Paro says. His goal is to provide solutions that answer that challenge.

John Lewicki, McDonald’s director of marketing alliances, adds, “We are excited to join forces with Deep Alliance Marketing to help us build the McDonald’s All-American High School Soccer event, as well as other programs.”

Deep Alliance Marketing is currently headquartered outside of Chicago in Clarendon Hills, IL.
