Five retail giants will be inducted this month into the new Retailing Hall of Fame.
The Center for Retailing Studies, a division of the Texas A&M Mays Business School, launches the Hall of Fame to honor executives who have made significant contributions to the industry.
Its first inductees are Neiman Marcus president and chairman Stanley Marcus; JCPenney chairman-CEO Allen Questrom; Barnes & Noble chairman Leonard Riggio; Crate & Barrel co-founder and CEO Gordon Segal; and Wal-Mart Stores founder-CEO Sam Walton.
Candidates were nominated by the Center’s panel of retail writers, and the Center’s board of directors chose which nominees would be inducted.
Euro RSCG Retail, Dallas, sponors the Jan. 16 Hall of Fame ceremony as part of its ongoing relationship with Mays Business School and the Center for Retailing Studies.
