Members of the Promotional Products Association have sent “several truckloads” of merchandise to hard hit areas in Florida following the devastation caused by hurricane Charley.
The association contacted members to ask for help in donating products that could aid those hurt by the storm. The list of items already sent includes 10,000 AA batteries, hundreds of emergency radio and flashlight combinations, 5,000 hand-held fans, 1,000 flashlights, eight skids of paper products (napkins, plates and cups), children’s and baby clothing, toys and thousands of apparel items, T-shirts and caps. Some members pulled products from inventory while others donated overrun or misprinted items, said Bill Prickett, a PPAI spokesperson.
“The response has been overwhelming,” Prickett said.
The effort is being coordinated by Wayne Greenberg, a PPAI member and past chairman of the board, from his promotional products company in Tampa, FL.
