E-mail fraud and phishing attacks grew by more than 180% in April, with an average of almost 38 new, unique attacks sent out to millions of consumers each day, Tumbleweed Communications Corp.
In April, there were 1,125 unique phishing attacks reported to Tumbleweed’s Anti-Phishing Working Group, up 180% over last year.
In addition, the number of attacks reported in March represents a monthly growth rate of more than 75% per month since December.
