Petopia.com, a San Francisco-based online pet supplier, and Canada’s Pethealth, Oakville, ONT, have reached a multi-year agreement to sell pet insurance on the Petopia Web site (http://www.petopia.com).
Through its PetCare Insurance Brokers Ltd. subsidiary, Pethealth will offer its QuickCare and MasterCare policies for dogs and cats to Petopia customers. The policies will be available in fall 2000 to consumers in California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Other states are slated to participate soon thereafter.
Petopia will also offer Pethealth insurance on its ValueVision network television show, The Petopia.com Show, as well as its In The Company of Dogs catalog, as well as through targeted email and shipping inserts in Petopia.com packages.
