Internet marketing firms that survived the so-called dot-com shakeout over the past few years will face less competition in the past and will be more able to compete than in the past, according to Standard & Poors.
“The Internet sector shakeout has left surviving dot-coms with less competition and greater pricing power,” said company analyst Scott Kessler, in a statement. “In addition, many of these companies have bolstered their positions by acquiring strategic assets, often from weaker competitors, and are likely to be wiser and stronger as they pursue long-term opportunities.”
