Omnicom Income Falls 17.4%

Omnicom Group Inc. posted net income of $233.4 million for the second quarter, a 24% decrease from $307 million in the prior year.

The advertising agency reported revenue of $2.9 billion for the quarter ended June 30, a 17.4% decrease from $3.5 billion last year.
The New York-based agency posted net income of $397.9 million for the six months ended June 30, a decrease of 22.8% from $515.6 million last year.

Worldwide revenue for the six months ended June 30 decreased 15.8% to $5.6 billion from $6.7 billion last year.

Domestic revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2009 decreased 10.4% to $3 billion from $3.4 billion in the prior year.

International revenue for the six months ended June 30 decreased 21.4% to $2.5 billion from $3.2 billion 59.8 million last year.
