Octagon Promotes and Hires New Execs
Octagon, the sports and event marketing agency, has announced a number of promotions and has hired a managing director for Greater China.
Simon Wardle was named executive vice president. He heads the insights and strategy division and is responsible for design and development of the agency’s research tools.
Derek Aframe has been named senior vice president. Aframe oversees Octagon’s global MasterCard, Cisco, and AB InBev account teams.
The agency has also promoted Brian Oliver to senior vice president. Oliver has managed the agency’s consulting relationship with BMW of North America since July 2006, directing all national and regional strategic planning, as well as daily account management.
Lou Kovacs has moved up to senior vice president. He is based in Boston and currently oversees the agency’s relationship with Bank of America.
Joining Octagon is Winston Zheng as managing director, Greater China. Based in Beijing, Zheng will head the agency’s operations in China. A 20-year industry veteran, Zheng most recently worked as director for Asia Pacific sponsorship for UBS in Hong Kong. His position begins the first week of May.
