NY Bus Terminal Transformed into Racetrack

Manhattan’s Port Authority Bus Terminal looks more like a harness racing racetrack than a place for folks to wait for their ride home.

A campaign, launched this week, by the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority to promote the summer championship harness racing at The Meadowlands has placed 176 creative message units inside the Port Authority. It runs through July 31.

To transform the terminal, seven large floor graphics, five two-sided banners, seven lighted dioramas, 102 two-sheet and 58 three-sheet units create the atmosphere of the track. These message units can be found throughout all levels of the Port Authority.

In July, additional message units will be added to promote the thoroughbred racing action at the NJSEA-owned Monmouth Park in Oceanport, NJ, and the upcoming New Jersey Championship Racing Weekend in August.

New Jersey Transit bus lines 351 and 164 provide regular service to and from the Port Authority to the Meadowlands Racetrack.

The creative was developed by The Sloan Group, New York City, with the ads placed through Viacom Outdoor.
