U.S. BANK:

has become the title sponsor of the Greater Milwaukee Open PGA Tour event, ending the tournament’s 36-year history without a title sponsor.

TED: United’s new low-fare service, took off for the first time this week from Washington-Dulles to Ft. Lauderdale, a new route not currently served by United. In celebration of the take off, passengers booked on the first flight were greeted with a gate celebration that featured a live performance by the Pat McGee Band and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Pat McGee Band, a blend of rock and pop, is currently touring the country in support of their upcoming Warner Bros. Records debut album, Save Me.

CARL’S JR.: restaurants will have California Speedway’s No. 36 M&M’s showcar on display at various restaurants from April 8-29 as part of its sponsorship of the 2004 California Speedway NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events. The QSR will provide pocket schedules to customers, which include coupons and discounts to California Speedway events.

SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO: has named Tola Murphy-Baran senior-VP marketing, responsible for subscriber acquisition and retention, direct and online marketing and all sports marketing and promotion. Most recently she worked as senior-VP of market development at the National Football League

BARE NECESSITIES: intimate apparel retailer has named David Wauters as its new director of online marketing. Wauters will oversee all marketing and Web site initiatives for www.barenecessities.com. He recently worked as e-commerce manager for A&E Television Networks. Dan Sackrowitz, who has served as director of marketing for the past four years, will assume the newly created position of VP-marketing and business development.

PERRY ELLIS INTERNATIONAL: formed a licensing agreement with SII Marketing International, a division of Seiko Instruments USA, Inc., for the manufacture and domestic distribution of Perry Ellis men’s and women’s watches set to launch Holiday 2004.

NYC2012: has unveiled the logo that will be used to unify all the marketing efforts, events, and merchandise for New York’s bid for the 2012 Olympic Games. The logo is a split image with counter-posed halves of two figures, each with an arm raised. One half is a triumphant athlete, the other half is the Statue of Liberty. The logo was created by Ogilvy & Mather’s Brand Integration Group.

JACK MORTON WORLDWIDE: a live event promoter, has been selected to produce the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 35th Ryder Cup Matches this September at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The United States and Europe take turns hosting the biennial event, which means the U.S. only plays host once every four years.
