WAL-MART STORES: has again installed kiosks that let shoppers send messages to troops overseas. Shoppers choose from a collection of holiday messages, through Jan. 1; after that, the kiosks will let shoppers send more general messages, which will be delivered to troops through “Operation Dear Abby,” a long-running program supporting military morale.
MASTERCARD: and American Airlines have teamed up for a holiday promotion to give all economy class passengers free snacks and a movie to on select transcontinental flights through Dec. 23. Passengers who travel on American Airlines’ nearly 600 Flagship Service flights to and from Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York (JFK), Miami, Newark, Washington, DC (Dulles), Orlando and Fort Lauderdale will receive a complimentary snack box and headset for on-board entertainment. American Airlines said more than 85,000 travelers will receive the free snack boxes and headsets.
