PANDA EXPRESS: restaurants have teamed up with the Dallas Mavericks to launch an Ultimate fan sweepstakes, in which consumers can enter to win a VIP suite to watch a home game. Consumers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area residents can enter at participating Panda Express restaurants. One grand-prize winner gets a suite with food and beverages for 18 guests to watch the Mavericks play the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on April 8. The sweepstakes runs through March 27. DRAFT: Chicago, promoted Jonathan Sackett to senior VP-director of digital operations, a new post at the agency. Sackett will develop proprietary products and applications of digital media and oversee the department’s work for Draft clients. He had been VP-director of digital operations; his promotion took effect last week. Draft also promoted Howard Klein to senior VP; he keeps the title of director of customer specific marketing, and continues to oversee all of Draft’s retailer-specific work, including its Bentonville, AR office.

THE NHL: announced yesterday the appointment of Michael LaBroad as the league¹s CMO. LaBroad, who was most recently the CMO at Bass Pro Shops, will be responsible for overseeing all marketing efforts and initiatives, including marketing planning, advertising, promotions, creative services and fan development activities. In addition, LaBroad will be a key participant in the brand strategy development for the league.
