The Snack Fairy touts healthy snacks |
The company has reformulated some of its popular snacks to address concerns about fat, sugar and artificial ingredients: Teddy Grahams Cubs (Cinnamon), Kraft Cheese Nips Sport Crisps and Smilin’ Ritz bits.
The KidSense Fun Packs are packaged in single-serving pouches that include a nutrition profile. One serving of each variety is made with 3 grams of whole grain and includes calcium, contains no artificial flavors or sweeteners, no trans fatty acids, 3 grams of fat and 100 calories. Fitness tips are included to keep kids on the move, Nabisco said.
The products hit the cookie and cracker aisles this month in grocery stores nationwide.
At the related Web site, Nabiscoworld.com/kidsense, visitors can learn about “family fun activities” like the one submitted by Tim S. of Columbus, OH. Tim suggests a game for teams of two with one player acting as the lawnmower (hands on the grass, feet out behind), while the other guides the lawnmower by holding up the feet of the lawn mower and racing across the grass. Visitors can submit their own activities or refer one to a friend. Visitors can also view videos of the Snack Fairy (a fatherly looking type wearing a pink tutu and carrying a snack pack.
In addition to p.r., Internet and advertising activities, there will be an FSI drop, display couponing, supermarket cart talks and sampling. KidSense will also be featured in the Kraft Food & Family magazine.
