More Animorphs!

KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell will begin receiving exclusive advertising, promotional, and premium usage rights to publicize Animorphs, a hot children’s property. Under terms of a multi-year agreement just signed with Scholastic Entertainment, New York City, and Tricon Global Restaurants Inc., Louisville, KY, the three companies will receive exclusive promo rights to the Animorphs’ name, characters and logos for promotion in quick service restaurants, sit-down restaurants and convenience food service arenas.

Based on the best-selling book series by K.A. Applegate, Animorphs highlights the adventures of five teenagers who use their unique ability to transform into any animal they touch to help save the world from alien invasion. The book has been a top-selling children’s series and a live-action television series (produced by Scholastic Productions) will debut on Nickelodeon in primetime this fall.

“Animorphs is our most important new franchise,” says Leslye Schaefer, vp of marketing and consumer products, Scholastic Entertainment. “Our partnership with KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell enables us to generate enormous exposure.” Schaefer adds that the new agreement is one component of a major marketing campaign to support the Nickelodeon TV launch.

The promotions will include a special Kids Meal including Animorphs premium items, supported by advertising and point-of-sales materials.

The Scholastic Entertainment/Tricon partnership was negotiated by Strottman International, Irvine, CA.
