Lycos and HSN Team Up for NCAA Marketing Venture

Web media company Lycos Inc., Waltham, MA, and the Home Shopping Network have teamed up to launch a sports marketing and merchandising initiative around the NCAA men’s collegiate basketball tournament.

The “HSN Tournament Store” site (http://www.lycos.com/hoops) is a new online store where fans can purchase official NCAA tournament merchandise. The store will be cross-promoted during the tournament, both on-air from HSN and online at the Lycos shopping site. Online promotions will feature links and banner ads across the Lycos Network, including an “It’s Madness” (http://www.lycos.com/sports/itsmadness/) tournament site that is currently drawing fans with tournament coverage and interactive contests and sweepstakes.
