Low-carb vending machines are poised to debut in hotels, schools and colleges this year.
Pure Foods, LLC is negotiating with an undisclosed hotel chain to put 480 machines in 60 properties.
Pure Foods seeks franchisees for its vending operations. The initial investment is $15,000 for one machine and franchise fees. The food company supplies low-carb, low-fat, sugar-free, gluten-free and organic products for machines.
Schools get a portion of revenue from their machines. Beverly Hills, CA-based Pure Foods also will donate an undisclosed portion of total revenues to fight childhood obesity. The company runs two low-carb stores in southern California. It will display the vending machines at the National Automatic Merchandising Association show on April 1.
