Live Teams With Travel Site for Dream Get-Aways
Morning talk show Live With Regis and Kelly is kicking off a new trivia contest with travel site IgoUgo.com, which gives consumers a chance to win a dream vacation anywhere in the world.
Live’s Out of Control February Fantasy will offer viewers weeklong trips (20 trips in all) to their hearts’ desire, which includes meals and taxes. Through Friday, hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will offer contest clues. After the final clue is revealed, viewers can send the clues to online to Liveregisandkelly.com or by postcard and with their vacation wish. Viewers can also select from 100 fantasy trips offered by IgoUgo, including a cruise along the Hawaiian islands, a trip to Atlantis, a New York City shopping excursion, or a cycling tour in Ireland.
Consumers who miss a clue from the show can obtain them at IgoUgo.com by registering for free on the site.
Starting Jan. 30 through Feb 24, Regis and Kelly will select an entry with the correct clues and ask a question based on a previous Live With Regis and Kelly show. Viewers who answer it correctly will get a chance to spin the wheel on the show and bring up to 11 friends or family members on their vacation get-away. The entry deadline is Feb. 15. Second-chance activities for the dream trip will begin Feb. 28.
The partnership speaks to how well an online travel site and a live talk show can work together to creative a compelling promotion, said Jennie Born, VP-national promotions, Buena Vista Television.
“We are always looking for new ways to enhance the viewing experience on Live with Regis and Kelly,” Born said. “This is a terrific partnership with IgoUgo. To my knowledge, this hasn’t been done before.”
