Consumers on the Internet/ISP Subscribers

Several data card releases are pending for the new 1.0 the Next Generation list group. The first file available, Consumers on the Internet/ISP Subscribers, has more than 10.8 million names. Separate segments are available for different types of Internet connections. Seventy percent of these individuals are age 35 to 50 with a $67,000 average income. Half of those listed live in two-income households with no children. The source is an online survey that measures Internet usage, connection speed, personal interests and TV viewing habits.

Time and Fortune International Subscribers

Base, hotline and selection prices for Time and Fortune magazine’s international subscribers lists are increasing effective June 16. The base price for Time’s 201,576 international subscribers is increasing from $275/M to $295/M. The cost of Fortune’s 35,519 international subscribers is rising from $300/M to $325/M. The old pricing will apply for all orders received by June 15.

Food Connoisseur Magazine Subscribers

The recently launched Food Frenzy Magazine Subscribers list has been renamed Food Connoisseur Magazine Subscribers. The list manager announced the change to avoid confusion with a similarly named file managed by another company. The renamed file targets 916,473 men and women who subscribed to two or more food-related publications. Segments identifying subscribers to three- and four or more publications are available.

InfoUSA to Acquire Mokrynskidirect

InfoUSA is acquiring Mokrynskidirect in a deal expected to close on May 31. Terms have not been disclosed.

Like Millard Group, Walter Karl Inc., Edith Roman Associates Inc. and Donnelley Marketing, Mokrynskidirect will be operated as an independent company owned by infoUSA.

Dennis Bissig will remain president of Mokrynskidirect; no other management changes are planned.

“We’ll let them run their business like they did before the acquisition. We also look forward to cross-selling opportunities for the infoUSA databases and products,” said Vin Gupta, CEO of infoUSA in a statement.

This latest acquisition reflects a continuation of infoUSA’s often stated strategy to acquire list management and brokerage companies.

Alesco Seeks Employees for Expansion

Alesco Data Group LLC, Fort Myers, FL, expects to hire about a dozen new employees over the next six to nine months. “They’ll be a combination of sales and support staff,” said Paul Theriot, president of Alesco.

The three-year-old firm is looking to expand data sales to printers, letter shops, advertising agencies and other direct marketers that use compiled lists. Alesco presently has 26 employees.

Sean Morits has joined Mal Dunn Associates Inc. as senior account executive for business-business sales. Morits previously worked for ALC Data Management.

Heidi Thibodeau has been promoted to director of catalog brokerage at Millard Group Inc. She has been with the firm since 1994.
