Local youth baseball teams have a chance to be featured on ESPN, win cool merchandise and a KFC party thanks to a partnership between the restaurant chain, ESPN and ABC Sports.
In the Put Your Team on ESPN Sports promotion, parents, coaches or individuals representing hometown teams can nominate and vote for youth baseball squads they believe exemplify enthusiasm.
Fans have until July 14 to visit KFC.com to nominate and cast votes for teams. Each vote counts as a run scored for the team. The team with the most votes will have one of their games recorded by ESPN, as well as star in a 60-second ESPN-produced feature on the team to air during ESPN and ABC Sports’ coverage of the 2007 Little League World Series.
“KFC is proud to team with ESPN and ABC Sports to honor youth baseball teams across the country,” says Scott Bergren, executive VP-marketing for KFC in a statement. “Teamwork—not just wins and losses—should be celebrated. That is why KFC is stepping up to the plate to recognize America’s most enthusiastic team.”
The winning team and 19 additional squads scoring the most votes will also get ESPN-branded hats and a KFC party.
