Homestore.com, a Thousand Oaks, CA-based home and real estate Web site, will purchase Move.com, a relocation and real estate portal, from Cendant Corp. The all-stock transaction will result in New York-based Cendant receiving $26.3 million shares of Homestore.com stock. On Oct. 27, the transaction was valued at nearly $1 billion. As part of the deal, Homestore.com will receive Cendant’s apartment location service Rent Net, the Welcome Wagon direct marketing service and assorted Move.com-related Web sites. The deal will also give Homestore.com exclusive access during the next 40 years to Cendant’s Century 21, Coldwell Banker and ERA aggregated listings.
