Hershey’s Shakes Up Executive Team

The Hershey Co. has reshuffled its top management team in an effort to improve the company’s performance and sales.

That includes naming Michele Buck as global chief marketing officer. Buck, who joined the company in 2005, most recently had been senior vice president, chief marketing officer for the U.S. division.

In her expanded role, Buck is in charge of marketing initiatives and growth strategies for the entire company. She reports to David J. West, Hershey’s new president and CEO.

In addition, John P. Bibrey, who worked on Hershey’s international commercial operations, has been named senior vice president of Hershey North America. His core duties are to improve the firm’s U.S. and Canadian businesses.

Ted Jastrzebski is taking over for Bibrey to handle Hershey’s international business. He previously was vice president, international finance and planning.

The positions took effect immediately.

The management shakeup took place just after Thomas Henquist, the company’s former top marketing executive and “global chief growth officer” announced plans to resign this month (Promo Xtra, Dec. 4, 2007)
