GoDaddy.com Rewards Employees With $750,000 in Prizes

GoDaddy.com, one of the top online registrars of domain names, is giving new meaning to employee rewards and loyalty.

The Scottsdale, AZ-based company has given away $750,000 to employees via rewards, bonuses and prizes above its standard salary and wages during 2005.

In December, GoDaddy.com launched a contest rewarding top performers in its Scottsdale and Gilbert Call Centers with a shopping spree. At the last moment, GoDaddy.com president and founder Bob Parsons upped the prize pool, doubling the amount. As a result, two employees won $5,000 shopping sprees at the store of their choice. Two other employees and several wining teams walked away with $3,000 and $2,000 shopping sprees, totaling $64,000.

Also, last month, GoDaddy.com gave away cash prizes up to $10,000, plasma TVs and other gifts at the company’s annual holiday party.

“A happy employee is a productive employee, no doubt about it,” Parsons said in a statement. “Giving more than people expect is one of my favorite parts of the job.”

All incentive rewards are given to employees with taxes paid, the company said.
