First Niagara, Lockport, NY, has recently launched its consumer checking promotion under the theme “Free Checking Free Gas” across New York State. Highlighting the program will be gas card/gift certificate giveaways for new Totally Free Checking account openings.
Any customer who ties direct deposit to their checking account also will be entered into a sweepstakes to win three months worth of free gas (a $500 value). The promotion ends Sept. 4. Sweepstakes winners will be drawn randomly on Sept. 10.
First Niagara is promoting the campaign through on-site merchandising, direct mail, banners, billboards, print ads and 10- and 15-second radio traffic spots.
