Lands’ End has named Gerald Cunningham as its new CMO. He will report to David McCreight, Lands’ End president
In his new role, Cunningham will oversee the company’s marketing activities, including customer segmentation, creative direction, catalog development, advertising and public relations.
He joins Lands’ End from Gap, Inc., where he previously worked as VP-operating strategy overseeing the Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic brands.
Cunningham replaces Ed Whitehead, who left this year after a less than two-year stint in the job, according to news reports. Prior to Gap, Cunningham held marketing jobs at DemandTec, Evant, Prophet Venture Advisors and Booz and Allen & Hamilton. He started his career at Procter & Gamble where he founded and led the company’s European marketing strategy team.
Lands’ End, best known for its catalogs and khakis and oxford shirt line, is based in Dodgeville, WI. Sears Holding Corp. bought the direct merchant in 2002 for $1.8 billion news reports said.
