Twentieth Century Fox and Fox Home Entertainment are sparking buzz around the DVD release of “Night at the Museum,” bringing a piece of the film to life.

A 13-foot dinosaur, made popular in the movie, has hit road in an 11-city tour to promote the DVD and Blu-ray disc release on Tuesday. Visitors can see the skeleton up close as makes it way from museums and science conventions in New York to Los Angeles.

The tour features the 20-foot-long T-rex on a flatbed trailer chasing a bone carried in a yellow Hummer H2. Fans can follow it via Yahoo Maps. In addition, Yahoo Movies will feature event footage with DVD exclusives.

The eight-day tour ends Tuesday at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in Los Angeles.

A second tour overlay features another dinosaur in a custom-built glass truck, which will make stops at Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

In “Night at the Museum,” Larry Daley is hired in an ordinary job as a museum night watchman. But he soon learns that all the exhibits come to life after the sun sets. He encounters a T-Rex skeleton, armies of Romans and Cowboys and a mischievous monkey.

The special edition, two-disc DVD retails for $34.98 and the single disc for $29.98.

The Borden Agency, Philadelphia, handles the tour.
