Foursquare Lets Businesses Add Their Twitter Accounts for Better Engagement

Posted on

Today Foursquare announced a subtly sweet feature for small businesses. Users who manage their business on the location-based social network can now choose to display their Twitter handle when someone tweets or checks in at one of their brick-and-mortar locations. Foursquare uses this example:

Instead of Melanie Travis’ tweet saying she was “at Butter Lane,” the update lets her tweet that she’s “at @butterlane.”

“It’s a small change to help you better reach out to and connect with people who love your business,” Foursquare says in its blog post announcing the new feature.

Earlier this week, the social network introduced its Foursquare for Business mobile app for iPhones and Android smartphones.

The social network boasts 30 million users around the world, along with more than 3 billion check-ins and more than 1 million merchants using its business platform.
