Kenneth Cole Productions has named Kyle Andrew, Gap’s former vice president of marketing, to lead its marketing and advertising initiatives. The position takes effect Feb. 5.
In her new role as senior vice president of marketing and advertising, Andrew will oversee all marketing and creative efforts for the Kenneth Cole brands. She will also have responsibility for the in-house advertising agency, media and p.r. She will report to Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Kenneth Cole.
Andrew’s hiring comes amid declining Gap sales and reports that the company is up for sale. She replaces Lori Wagner who left the post three months ago after more than five years to become chief marketing office at Cole Haan, company spokesperson Meredith Paley said.
While at Gap, Andrew handled advertising, media, p.r. promotions, buzz marketing, events packaging and in-store creative for the Gap, Baby Gap, Gap Kids and Gap Body brands. She also oversaw the company’s recent Skinny Black Pant campaign featuring images of Audrey Hepburn and the (PRODUCT) RED campaign, the global initiative founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, which supports The Global Fund.
Andrew’s last day is Jan. 26. Bobbi Silten, Gap’s chief foundation officer for the Gap Foundation, will handle the company’s marketing team in the interim. An immediate search for Andew’s replacement will soon be underway, a spokesperson said.
Other executive shakeups include the resignation of Denise Johnston, president of Gap Adult, which goes into effect today. The company’s North America president Cynthia Harriss will oversee the business until a replacement is found.
