Food Lion Adds New Internet Game

(Supermarket News)— Food Lion has created an online Thanksgiving game to encourage interaction with its private-label products. Accessed at foodlion.com, the “Cranberry Cannon Game” involves shooting Food Lion-brand cranberry sauce at flying turkeys.

Players collect points based on the number of turkeys they hit. Once they complete the game, players are offered coupons for $1 off Food Lion frozen vegetables, $1 off a 12-pack of Canada Dry or 7-Up soft drinks; and $1 off on Mr. and Mrs. T’s Bloody Mary Mix.
