Gorton Seafood Co. of Gloucester, MA, is attempting a fish-out-of-water approach in its latest efforts. The frozen fish purveyor joins Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Sam Goody, and Musicland for an on-pack promo this month.

Get Your Money Back and More will be featured in over 3,000 food stores through the end of the month, says Boston-based Cohen-Friedberg Associates, which handles. It’s another entry in a growing field of grocery items pairing with non-grocery merchandise to create extra value for brands and traffic for retail partners.

Consumers who buy any two Grilled Fillet products get a $5 gift certificate good at the partner stores with proof.

“We have never seen such willing participation by the field and supermarket chains. We anticipate a lot of promotion displays across the country,” says Grilled Fish brand manager Nancy Fiore.
