E-mail marketing firm ExactTarget has acquired CoTweet. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced.
CoTweet offers a monitoring dashboard that allows companies to manage multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously. IT also allows users to support multiple editors, track conversations and post follow-up tasks.
Jesse Engle, who co-founded CoTweet in 2008 and has served as its CEO, will lead the unit, which will remain in San Francisco. Once the acquisition is completed, Engle will take the title senior VP and general manager of CoTweet.
All seven current CoTweet employees will remain with the company, and Engle told Direct Newsline he anticipates tripling the company
