The Electronic Retailing Association and the National Advertising Review Council have launched a Web site where consumers can file complaints about infomercials and other direct response advertising. The site will be monitored by an independent attorney for NARC, the Better Business Bureau’s investigative arm.
Complaints about false or misleading ads can be filed by completing a questionnaire at Savvyshopper.org. The industry’s new self-regulatory effort has the Federal Trade Commission’s blessings.
