DM Firms Look to Hire: Survey

A greater number of direct marketing companies anticipate hiring more workers this fall than at any time since 2001, according to a direct marketing employment survey.

Eight in ten respondents said they have plans to add staff before the end of the year, with database and analytic positions continuing to top the list of open or opening positions, followed by sales and customer service jobs.

The number of companies reporting hiring freezes dropped to 9%, while 6% of the companies responding said they plan to reduce headcount before the end of 2005, up from 2% during the summer.
