Divide and Rule

Panasonic Interactive Media and Little Caesar’s Pizza launched a four-week promo designed to stimulate trial and purchase of Panasonic’s new Little Caesar’s Fractions Pizza educational CD-ROM and the chain’s pizza.

Marketed under Panasonic’s PanaKids lines, the CD-ROM title teaches math to kids 8 to 11 using pizza slices. It marks the first time the Detroit-based Little Caeser’s has licensed the fatuously hilarious cartoon Caesar.

Targeting families with young children, the promo offers 200,000 Fractions Pizza demo disks at 4,000 Little Caesar’s stores in the U.S. To win, consumers must register at the store and answer a few questions about home PC usage. They get a coupon on their pizza box worth $10 off Little Caesar’s Fractions Pizza via mail-in rebate. Consumers who buy the title at retail receive an in-box coupon good for a free order of Crazy Bread.

Support includes in-store counter cards, pizza-box attachments, signage and posters, plus links between the Little Caesar’s and Panasonic Web sites and 200,000 e-mails to Panasonic Interactive customers. No national advertising is planned.
