Digital marketing agency VML has begun the New Year by promoting three of the agency’s longtime staffers to three new executive roles at the shop.
Managing partner Scott McCormick becomes chief vision officer, handling next-generation innovation for key clients. With his promotion, VML splits McCormick’s former duties between two new posts, president and chief creative officer.
Jon Cook becomes president of VML, focusing on working more closely with sister agencies under parent WPP Group, and on new-business development. Cook, who had been managing partner since 2003 (and with the agency since 1996), also continues to oversee client account supervision.
Eric Baumgartner becomes chief creative officer; he had been executive creative director. Baumgartner has been with Kansas City-based VML since 1995.
Matt Anthony continues as CEO, a post he had held since 2000.
VML’s clients include Burger King, Microsoft (including Xbox), Adidas, Colgate, Sprint and Simon Malls.
