Delta Ties Miles to Dining Experiences

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Delta Airlines is giving members of its loyalty program, SkyMiles, a new way to rack up miles—by eating out.

Under the SkyMiles Dining & Hotels by Rewards Network program, members who register and spend $300 or more at participating restaurants before Oct. 31 will earn SkyMiles Dining Elite status and receive an additional five miles per dining dollar spent through 2007. SkyMiles members can register at Skymiles.com.rewardsnetwork.com/fasttrack.

“Our SkyMiles members can treat themselves to an evening or two at their favorite restaurants, or try new ones—and then watch their miles multiply,” Jeff Robertson, managing director of the SkyMiles program said in statement.

As part of the promotion, SkyMiles Dining members who eat out or have 12 or more hotel stays in 2006 can also earn 10 miles per qualified dollar spent through Dec. 31, 2007. A list of participating restaurants is available at skymiles.rewardsnetwork.com.

The SkyMiles Dining & Hotels program lets members create a dining profile online and earn three miles per dollar spent on food, beverages, tax and tip for qualified dining purchases with credit or debit card. Members who have Elite Status in the program earn 10 miles per dollar spent through Dec. 31, 2007.
