Cotton Inc. Hosts Mall ‘Camp’

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Cotton Inc. and Seventeen Magazine are wrapping up a weeklong event that sent 50 high schoolers to camp at their local mall.

“Cotton’s Fashion Camp” runs through Aug. 5 at General Growth Properties’ upscale Galleria Dallas mall, with seminars conducted by stylist Karl Marshall, Cotton Inc. trend analyst Jessica Paruch, Seventeen merchandising associate Stacy Charles, the Dallas Morning News fashion editor and Nordstrom staffers.

Camp wraps up tomorrow with a back-to-school fashion show planned and executed by the campers. The 50 campers began the week by designing a T-shirt. Eight finalists were chosen; the top winner’s shirt will be produced in limited edition and sold at Nordstrom in Galleria Dallas, with proceeds donated to non-profit Girls, Inc.

“We wanted to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for teens who are passionate about a future career in the fashion industry,” said GGP senior VP-business development Melinda Holland in a statement.
