A company that marketed bogus greeting card ventures via a toll-free telephone number has settled Federal Trade Commission charges that it bilked consumers.
Universal Greeting Card Corp. and its president, Robert Ruffeino, will pay $37,000, an amount frozen last year by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. They have also agreed to refrain from selling business opportunities.
Universal and Ruffeino were charged last June as part of the FTC
