Burger King kicked-off the “Get With The Spirit, Soldier” holiday marketing campaign last week for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service’s network of 200 Burger King restaurants on military bases worldwide.
As part of the promotion, U.S. military personnel will be able to get a free holiday CD when they “King Size” a value meal. The CD, entitled Let There be Peace on Earth, features the U.S. Army Field Band playing popular Christmas music. Each CD contains coupons for AAFES Burger King restaurants and free passes to Reel Time Theaters, the AAFES-owned cinemas located on military bases around the world.
The campaign features the cartoon “Grill Instructor” character, playing off the proverbial military drill instructor, which debuted in 2002. In-restaurant promotion merchandising features the “Grill Instructor” with the holiday CD in hand.
