BooKoo Turns to Sweepstakes for Drinks

Energy drink maker Bookoo Beverages, Inc. has launched a sweepstakes campaign linked to this summer’s X Games.

The BooKoo Xtreme Sweepstakes will give consumers a chance to win a trip for two to the action-packed games in Los Angeles in August and deliver 140 pit bikes to second-place winners. Consumers can enter online at BooKooenergy.com/win through May 15.

“This promotion will be a definite traffic-driver at retail,” said BooKoo President Daniel Dower in a statement.

“Retailers will be featuring some eye-catching POS materials to support the promotion and we’ve made the whole process easy for any retailer to get involved,” Dower said.

The sweepstakes is the first of its kind for the company. Store displays, stickers and sweepstakes information on packaging will hopefully ramp up sales, said Hunter Hewett, BooKoo’s director of marketing.

The Dallas-based company’s eyes are set on attracting teenagers and young adults to its brands. When the summer X Games air on ESPN and EXPN, BooKoo’s sponsorship of Motocross racer David Vuillemin will bring a BooKoo-branded motorbike and gear before thousands in the viewing audience.

Hewitt said promoting BooKoo’s energy drinks in sporting events like the X Games has proven beneficial.

“We are wildly popular in the 16- to 25-year-old age group,” Hewett said.
