Blimpie CEO Resigns From Post

Jeffrey Endervelt, CEO, chairman and president of Blimpie International, Inc., has resigned to pursue other business interests, according to the company. The resignation, made public last Friday, was effective immediately.

Blimpie’s board of directors has hired Mark Samson, managing director of Getzler Henrich-Management & Financial Consultants, as interim chief executive until a new CEO and president is named.

Endervelt led Blimpie for the last four years. Under his leadership, he helped refreshed the Blimpie brand with a new restaurant design, updated logo and image (March 29 Xtra). During that time, the 1,700-unit sandwich chain also introduced the panini grill and Ciabatta bread sandwich, helping transform Blimpie from a neighborhood sub shop into a contemporary deli.

Endervelt will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors and oversee Maui tacos and Smoothie Island brands, according to news reports.
