Blair to Close Returns Center, Consolidate Operations
Blair Corp., an apparel and home products marketer, will close its leased Returns Center in Erie, PA, and move all returns operations to the Blair Distribution Complex in Irvine, PA., which is located approximately seven miles from its Warren headquarters.
The decision was prompted by technological improvements at the distribution center, which will allow Blair to process returns and re-shelf its merchandise more efficiently. Blair anticipates installing a warehouse management system at the distribution complex early next year.
According to the company, most of the associates at the Erie facility will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the Irvine location. Blair will provide relocation assistance to those interested in transferring, and severance packages to those unable to do so.
