  • Sharper Image Focuses on Catalogs As Direct Sales Rise

    The Sharper Image Corp. generated sales of $150 million during third quarter 2004,up from $124.9 million a year ago. Total catalog and direct sales were up 28%, to $48.8 million, while Internet sales rose 24%, to 21 million. Comparable store sales generated a 9% increase between quarters. The third quarter ended Oct. 31.

  • Direct Sales Show Biggest Gains for Urban Outfitters

    Third quarter net sales for Urban Outfitters rose from $142.3 million a year ago to $216.3 million. While not the largest segment, direct-to-consumer sales recorded the largest percentage increase: 85%, jumping from $12.7 million to $23.5 million. The quarter ended Oct. 31.

  • Jos. A. Bank Well Suited by Direct Sales in Third Quarter

    Jos. A. Bank generated $82.6 million in revenue during third quarter 2004, up 14.7% from the $72 million it recorded a year earlier. While the Hampstead, MD-based men’s clothing marketer did not break out revenue by segment, it indicated that comparable store sales rose by 0.4%, while combined catalog and Internet revenue jumped by 18.8%.
