Alcatel, GlobalSign Win EU Data Transmission Contracts

The European Commission has awarded Alcatel and GlobalSign the Contract to Establish a Trans-European Securedata transmission network.

The two companies are slated to work with the Brussels-based European Commission to Trans-European networks to promote the secure exchange of data between various administrations of EU members.

This new secure network will link the administrative authorities so that each member state can participate. This can be typically for the control of medicines, fishing activities or even translations both within the commission and outside agencies across Europe.
