Lowe’s Rolls Out Photo Contest

Home-improvement chain Lowe’s kicks off a photo contest later this week that will award a $25,000 room makeover.

The online contest, called Find Inspiration and Paint It, asks consumers to submit photos of the places or objects that inspire their choice of paint colors for their homes. It’s a joint effort with paint brand Valspar, whose Ultra Premium and Signature Colors lines are sold exclusively at Lowe’s.

Starting June 25, consumers can submit photos at Lowes.com/FindInspiration. Lowe’s will choose 25 finalists to post on the site, for a consumer vote. The top winner gets a $25,000 room makeover using the colors inspired by the winning photo. The remaining 24 finalists each get a $100 Lowe’s gift card.

“The colors we incorporate into our homes can say a great deal about who we are as an individual,” said Bill Dodd, vice president of merchandising for paint at Lowe’s, in a statement. “We want to know what’s inspiring our customers when they’re thinking about changing or adding color to their homes. Whether it’s a centerpiece of red roses or a stretch of blue sky along the shoreline that inspires them most, we absolutely want to know about it.”
