21st Creates Mega IT FILE

21st Century Marketing, Farmingdale, NY, has merged its managed list property, Information Resource Group (IRG), and its newly acquired Computer Intelligence (CI) file to create the Harte-Hanks Computer Intelligence file of about 2 million names. The file became available March 16.

The combined file identifies corporate and information technology professionals with decision making and purchasing power from three primary groups: end users or buyers of information technology; the channel, or sellers of information technology; and Internet service providers.

The file includes 400 job titles and thousands of hardware software, operating systems, databases, applications, networking selections and more. Selections include gender, IT and non-IT job functions, employee size, number of PCs, operating systems, programming languages, annual sales volume, hardware installed, industries, communications systems, networks, software, and lan operating systems. Job functions include communication and computer titles as well as corporate management titles. The data has been verified by telephone. Pricing had not been determined by press time.

“The file will be a dominant player in the IT marketplace,” says Doug Carpenter, director of list management for 21st Century.

Harte-Hanks, the owner of CI, acquired IRG in November. The CI file was previously managed by American List Counsel, Princeton, NJ.
